Young Native Scholars/InterTribal Youth
Visit Barona Cultural Center & Museum!
Young Native Scholars / InterTribal Youth (www.intertribalyouth.org) prepares Native American students for a brighter future through hands-on life experiences that combine academics, adventure travel, health and wellness, cultural exploration and economic opportunities. Barona Cultural Center & Museum has hosted Young Native Scholars since 2003. This summer, the group enjoyed a visit with Vice Chairman LaChappa and Councilman Welch, received a tour of the Museum by staff including the Director, Curator, Collections Manager, and Librarian, and held a Model Tribal Council meeting. Students left Barona feeling empowered as cultural stewards and ready to be leaders.
Upcoming events are listed in our bi-annual newsletter, as well as on our website calendar - or you can call the Museum at (619) 443-7003 ext 219.
The Museum is open Tuesday through Friday: 12pm to 5pm, Saturday: 10am to 4pm, and closed on Sundays and Mondays.
