Title: Eucalyptus

Description: Eucalyptus is a tree with feather shaped leaves. They are now found in many parts of the world, but they are orignally from Australia. The scientific name for my plant is Eucalyptus camaldulensis and it is commonly known at the Red River Gum. In the winter, the eucalyptus is a brown color and so are the leaves. In the summer, it is a tannish color and the leaves are light green with some small groups of nuts/seeds. It is a very tall tree when mature. Sometimes its bark falls off and the leaves can be very delicate and break easily when dry. The plant was used as an oil that helped with many health issues: an anitseptic for cleaning wounds, for respiratory issues, and for joint and muscle pain. No notes were found on the original card from Elizabeth Windsong.
