Description: My plant is called Horseweed. It is an annual plant that is native to California and other parts of North America. It comes from the family Compositae. Its color is green and the flowers are white or purple with the center of the flower being yellow. It is considered a noxious weed. The scientific name is Conyza canadensis, and there is no known Kumeyaay name. The Zuni people used it to cause sneezing, relieving runny noses. Other Native Americans used it to clot blood. According to the research of Elizabeth Windsong, Horseweed had the same properties as Bitterweed and was also used as a bitter tonic for stomach troubles.
