Description:         Sweet clover, or Melilotus albus, is a plant that originally came from Europe. Sweet clover is used as medicine that thins blood, treats bruises, night cramps, itchiness, and blood clots. The plant has many nick names, such as melilot, ribbed melilot and white/sweet clover. Clover can have yellow or white flowers and grows everywhere. Sweet clover has no known name in the Kumeyaay language. They grow tiny flowers that have the scent of vanilla or hay. Clover is also used to enrich the soil. According to the research of Elizabeth Windsong, when made into a tea sweet clover could heal bad skin conditions, sores, and boils.
