Virtual Exhibit - Heritage Project

Week 1, Heritage Class

During the first week of Heritage Class, the 7th and 8th graders learned about Ethnobotany (the scientific study of the use of plants by people). Each student was assigned a plant from the Barona Indian Charter School Founder's Garden and got to see their plant in person. All of the botanicals found in the garden were used traditionally by the Kumeyaay/Diegueño people. Finally, all students got to plant a Bladderpod seed which they took home at the end of the session.
