Week 5, Heritage Class
 

During week five, the students made Ethnobotanical Bookmarks! Last year Museum Staff collected, pressed and dried plant samples from the Native Plant Garden. Each student chose a plant sample for his/her bookmark. On one side, the students wrote in specimen information: plant name, scientific name, 'Iipay Aa name, and uses by the Kumeyaay/Diegueño people. On the other side, they glued down the plant sample. Each bookmark was then laminated.
