Tecate Cypress

  • Description: Tecate Cypress plants are native to the "montane, chaparral, and woodlands" habitat of the western Peninsular Ranges. They grow at elevations between approximately 1,400 – 4,900 feet. The scientific name is Cupressus forbesii, reclassified by some as Hesperocyparis forbesii. The color is dark green. There are many uses and benefits of the Tecate Cypress plant. People can use them medicinally for cramps and muscle pulls, toxin removal, blood clotting, and as a natural deodorant.
